Solutions for Better Air Quality

Upgrade your filter to MERV 11-13 (check furnace compatibility first). Clean your ducts if there is visible mould or excessive dust. Use a UV air purifier in the ductwork to kill bacteria and mould. Keep humidity at 40-50% — too dry or too humid both cause respiratory irritation.

Maintenance That Helps

Replace filters monthly during heavy use. Vacuum supply registers and return grilles. Clean the area around the furnace to prevent dust from being pulled into the return. Have ducts inspected during annual furnace service. Consider an HRV/ERV for continuous fresh air exchange.
