Tips for a Smooth Furnace Installation Day in Vancouver

Before Installation Day

Clear the area around your furnace — remove stored items, boxes, and debris. Ensure the technician has clear access from the entrance to the furnace location. Move vehicles from the driveway if the technician needs access to the exterior vent location. Secure pets in another area of the home.

During Installation

The installation takes 4-8 hours for a standard replacement. The technician will: turn off power and gas, disconnect and remove the old furnace, install the new furnace, connect gas, electrical, and venting, test the system, and walk you through the new equipment and thermostat. There will be some noise and dust during removal.

After Installation

The technician should: show you the new thermostat operation, explain the new furnace features and settings, review the warranty information, dispose of the old furnace, clean the work area, and answer any questions. You should register your warranty online within 90 days of installation.
