Signs of a Gas Line Leak
Rotten egg smell near the furnace or gas line, hissing sound from the gas piping or connections, dead grass or vegetation near underground gas lines, or bubbles appearing when soapy water is applied to gas connections. If you suspect a leak, evacuate and call 911 first.
Emergency Gas Leak Response
If you smell gas, evacuate immediately — do not operate electrical switches. Call 911 from outside. After the gas utility secures the site, call us for gas line repair. Our licensed gas fitters locate the leak using electronic leak detectors and soap-and-water testing, and repair or replace the affected section.
Repair Cost
Gas line leak repair costs $200-800 depending on the location and severity. A simple fitting tightening or connection reseal: $150-300. A section of pipe replacement: $300-800. After the gas utility has turned off the gas, we make the repair and arrange for reconnection.
