A 2010 furnace was likely 80% AFUE (standard) or 92-95% (high efficiency). A 2026 furnace is at least 95% AFUE with premium models reaching 98%. The 15% efficiency improvement from 80% to 95% AFUE saves $180-240/year on a $1,200 gas bill. Over 15 years: $2,700-3,600 savings.
Technology Upgrades
